The Skipper Oil lamp is  hand-spun on a lathe, a starter size with a please-all design.   It's 6" high, including the glass chimney, with the globe's base measuring 3.5" Holds 4 oz of oil that will burn for approx. 3 hours per ounce. For $115. Look through ALL the lamps )many sizes, shapes, prices) to find one that fits your needs.

TIP: Stuff their sock with replacement wicks for $1.50 and odor free paraffin lamp oil through the site (18 oz for $7), though you may be able to find both at a local hardware store. Look for the smokeless, colorless, odor free oils -  it makes all the difference.

SERIOUSLY - CLICK THIS LINK TO PERUSE THE SITE:  For a really unique gift, and a good quality one, check out Favor and Hot Cake Designs. They specialize in hand made carved resin jewelry in bold designs and colors. They offer a variety of brooches, earrings, necklaces etc...  Their brooches are really special. Like this Mexican Flower for $54 in what's both the color of the moment and a timeless one... They ship USPS for about $7 but can do Fed Ex or UPS if you email them requesting it. And even though a mom and pop shop, they do returns.

Or carved resin necklaces - there are so many you really need to take a look. But here's one striking example:

Completely waterproof, the JBL Clip 2 provides 8 hours of playtime, allowing you to take your music wherever you go, be it land or water. Stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth, or plug it into any smartphone or tablet with its attached audio cable. Comes in black, red, turquoise, blue, red and gray - $59. on JLB site but $39.99 on AMAZON.

Glossier Loose Powder appropriately named WOWDER, is the best packaging I've seen to contain the loose elements and dispense only the little you'll need on your applicator. Prevents spills too.  Choose your color from 5 shades. And it's nice quality, and translucent - does not cake you up, yet lasts for hours. Great for every day. $22  You can also order a brush HERE for $20, but can use one of your own if it's wide and full.

Giving this pizza pan - and a pizza cutter - is a surprisingly welcome gift, something that appeals and will be regularly used. Encouraging for Tweens or Teens who will throw a pizza in (to cook for themselves!) or a college kid who has an apartment or access to an oven, but adults welcome it too. The air holes keep a pizza from sticking and help the crust become crispy. I've found this everywhere from Marshalls and Home goods to Macy's. Here is is at Kohls for $19.

For grown ups, you make more of it by pairing with a pizza dough package (especially good for those who are gluten free), or a gift card to Trader Joes where fresh bagged dough can be bought and they can get creative making their own.  I would also add the MISTO below, which they will find a daily use for, but which is great to spray olive oil on the pan before putting the pizza atop. But this is non-stick so oil is not necessary. Found at Bed Bath and Beyond for $9.99 (Less with your coupons) or Target for $7.49, among others.

OOFOS makes the most comfortable flip flop for folks with problem feet seeking relief. There are also clogs, plus a boot and other close toe styles for men and women.  incredible arch support and are so cushiony that your feet, ankles, knees and hips will feel greatly relieved! TIP: Both flip flops and clogs are easier to fit if you tend to be between sizes, because they are not fully contained around the foot.  I have worn both a 9 and a 10 comfortably, but the close-toed shoes come only in whole sizes. You won't know till you try them. This Flip Flop comes in many colors for $59.

Always a fun thing to give or get, Polaroids are making a comeback. This is original One Step...there are several colors including black and differ slightly in price. This is $69...on AMAZON. Buy I-Type or 600 film to go with it! About $15-18 per pack.

Packing Cubes DO help what you pack stay in place, and unwrinkled. Especially great because we carry so much more onboard - or since the TSA can now open your case to rifle through.  There are several kinds (READ HERE for comparisons) but here are two:  Ebags is rated as the best in the article I recommended. I bought ones very much like it from the Container Store. Prices vary based on the variety of sizes and number you want. Consider how big a bag they usually pack. These are best for when going on long trips, so maybe plan for a medium size suitcase. Either way, having SOME is a great start!

And from AWAY, which may work well if they have one of the famous AWAY bags to pack them in. Some have mesh with stable sides to help things breathe, other bags have sealed material to keep any dirt from street shoes separate from the clothing. Set of 4 is $45, Set of 6 is $65.
