TOP GIFTS OF THE YEAR 2021: Waxed Jackets

When I went to Australia, I was introduced to waxed jackets.  The wax made it fairly bullet proof but rather than be heavy and stifling, the lightweight fabric (usually cotton) made it surprisingly comfortable to wear, as is, or layered over sweaters and such. And to clean, you just wipe it with a damp cloth. 

Now I'm seeing fashion jackets that offer the same but can be worn out in the city as well as in the rugged outdoors. So here is just a sampling of the traditional and the modern versions, that are on the more affordable side than some. Google to find even more styles, colors and sizes.

TIP: This is a Fall to Spring jacket, but in the coldest months, ask yourself if your recipient wear chunky sweaters or thin layers underneath.  Then check each company's sizing chart and scan reviews for sizing mentioned to help you decide, as well as exchange dates.

Or a hooded Waxed Parka  that has warm fleece lining, including in the hood, lots of pockets - a plus according to the men I dress- including roomy ones on the front at the hip. The Fiona waxed cotton jacket has flattering tailoring with slightly curved hem, dipped at back and princess seams.
