Great Gifts for Him 2018

Many think it's hard to buy for guys - so I hope the suggestions below either help or give you ideas.

Local breweries usually sell their own growler. But you may live in a state where they let you bring your own growler - or your guy is making their own and wants one to bring their personally made stuff, this is a really unique and high end one.

So a personal growler is another great gift for the beer lover. You can probably still rush a personalized (inscribed with his initials or name) growler from ETSY shops.  Or just Google to your hearts content to find the right price or a design that appeals for you. Again, I recommend for double walled stainless one over ceramic or glass

One for the serious beer lover or the guy who has everything are these:

Besides that this is like a keg with a tap - totally different than the average growler - stainless is the best and this offers a way to preserve his open beer for up to two weeks -- a co2 cartridge.... You can get it in a few sizes.

Stainless, black, a coppery color or gray, in different sizes, alone or combined. Below is a photo of one up close... See the whole collection from GrowlerWorks.

These are PRIMO!  Wool underwear, made by the great ICEBREAKER. And they are 25% off right now. You can get them with or without a fly, and in other styles. But the most important thing is the merino wool - warm int he winter, cool in the summer, great for hiking, camping, skiing... These are called the Anatomica Boxer with fly. Normally $43, now some colors on sale for $32 at time of this publishing.

Whether he wants to get fit (or more fit) or reduce carbon emissions this bike is a nice choice: the Pure Fix Original Fixed Gear Single Speed, $349-399 on AMAZON - which comes 90% assembled, in seven different sizes, which is great.  Be sure to get the right bike for your guys build and approximate height.

Not a man-purse guy and needs something bigger than a wallet and more sleek than a messenger bag? Here's a leather folio that seems to have a place for anything he might need - glasses, phone, passport, biz cards, cords, pen... and his tablet or Air.

Geeze, I want one! Here's a photo of the actual size. From HOUSEofLH, for $73.35

I LOVE these ceramic versions of the famous New York coffee cups. Decades ago I bought a dozen and they get pilfered from my cupboard by guests. They also fit in your car (though no cover) when you're running out but don't want to leave those last 4 sips in the cup. One caution, they are HOT when microwaved.  THEY ARE COOL so who cares!

$12 at Uncommon Goods. I'm ordering some to replace mine!

Travels a lot - or dozes between gigs - and doesn't want to sport eye pads? Here's a solution: Ninja glasses that cut 98% of the light that would be hitting their eyes. And he'll look cool doing it. No one may know!  $24 found at Black Out Bands.

Well beyond just beer and bacon - though they have those too, this is a really unique website for finding something for almost any guy on your list. Too many  great choices to do here, so just click on it, and search for the right thing from categories like: Wooden Crates (everything from Exotic Meats to Korean BBQ to Fajita Making, to Beard Wrangling), Jerkey Grams, Pizza Grilling Crates, Project Crates, Ammo Crates, and themes like Sports, Drinks, and Holiday themed. TIP: Right now, there's Buy one get one 50% off deal. MANCRATES.COM

Gotta have a Grill item right? Kebob Grillers that eliminate the need for a skewer, so less prep work and no errant tomato falling through the grill.  We all are eating lighter and healthier - and no ones kidding ourselves. There may still be a few fat steaks, burgers or brats on that grill, but these WILL come in handy... Set of four with stay-cool wood handles. From UNCOMMON Goods, $16.99.

Going like hotcakes, these are COOL shoes. They are all leather/suede and have a kind funky bowling shoe kind of look. Touted as waterproof (they are Gortex) hiking shoes, they are more for fashion or a flat walk in the woods, walking around town when rainy, GREAT for nature photographers or birders who need a light step to not scare their subjects.  They are going fast as this color combo is being discontinued (so ON SALE for $99 at Sierra Trading Post) and I happen to like it.

And if you like this style, there are new colors (for women too) on the ASOLO website. This is the British site so if you find a shoe you like on it, Google it to find in an American store, just for ease of returns. Amazon, Zappos, REI etc carry them too.

Back to Beer... Craft Beer is ALL the rage, and the new man-hobby is trying their hand at making their own. Or thinking about it at least. If your guy is either, this book might be really interesting to him. $16 On AMAZON

Or this for $14.90 on AMAZON.

SPEAKING OF BEER...

Won't hurt to give a 4 pack of something with it. Or better, get singles of several and put them in a cardboard beer holder and wrap it up.  Whichever you choose.... TIP: I recommend: Make America Juicy Again, Lord Hobo Boom Sauce, Whirlpool American Pale Ale - those are all lighter. And for darker beers, try Smutty Nose Robust Porter, (great for a chilly night or around the fire) and Founders. And you can always grab a big or small growler from your local brewery.

The below a little pricey but if it's the right thing for your hard to buy for, it will be worth every penny. Though it's now on sale for 15% off, it doesn't hurt that those pennies are going to an small business on ETSY.

This lightweight bamboo lap desk helps improve posture, balances several items (phone, tablet, laptop, mouse) with laptop heat protection, and has wrist support made of leather with nice stitching too! Ambidextrous. Conceivably you can also use it flipped over to write on with pen and paper, or play cards...  At iSkelterProducts for $84.96.

More ideas will come but check out the entire FOR HIM category to see past year's suggestions. If a link or three doesn't work, you can Google to find them easily.
