That window between kiddo and high schooler is tough as they make their transition between interests of childhood and where they're growing to. THESE ARE GREAT! Online cooking classes for kids. Fabulous to do together or to give as a way for grandparents, or special adults in their lives to do with them. Choose from a plethora of classes that start from $29. You will have a 90-120 minute online class, and get some prep instructions and a shopping list in advance of it.  Get all the details at Sur La Table.  TIP: This makes a great, and substantial, last minute gift!

Kids might not yet wear make up but they are very curious about that next step. Practices like doing facials totally appeal. Be a hit with Glossier's face mask -cruelty free hydrating and great for all skin types including sensitive skin.  3 fl ox for $22.

I love these colorful ones called Solar Mini's - some bright enough to be neon, right in style. There are rainbow sets, with a little glitter, and patterned Lua Minis (shown in pic above).  All are $8 ea or they're running a SALE of 5 for $20.

City Bonfires makes a S'mores Kit that comes with what is essentially a non-toxic, recycled soy wax Budsen Burner (I learned to make them in the Girl Scouts) in a tin with lid. Another toy that will last long after the holidays are over. From a company you can trust. YES! ROLLERBLADES!! And these have a variety of features - one of which is an anxiety to adjust the length of the toe cap to some degree to accommodate foot growth for your investment! Comes in black, blue and pink, on Amazon for $51.  TIP: Definitely give these WITH elbow and knee pads and a helmut (if they don't already have one for their bike) so from the get go they know protection is part of the experience! 

Kids love the fun of colored lights in their bedroom or game area - whether or not they can change the colors or control them from tech or if they are just plug ins. Here's one: the Philips Hue Bluetooth Smart Light strip. Comes in a single color, or gradient, from 3 ft, or 6 ft. These can be controlled from your phone. Also voice compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple Homekit and Google Home). On Amazon for $39. TIP:  Google to find regular plug ins or battery operated if using technology to use these doesn't fit your needs. 


Nerdy Ink is a small, family run business that puts a lot of love and care into their amazing dust jacket covers for your kids favorite collection of books. You can order one or for a whole series. Logically, they only fit certain sizes of the books which you can learn on their site. Great if you are buying the books anew as well.  Here's an example for Harry Potter. There's a lot of promise in these for only $15 on Amazon, but the headphones help foheadphones are highly recommended to protect sensitive ears with adjustable 85dB/94dB volume limiting, adopts food-grade materials. It won't cause any negative effect to your kids even after a long time wearing and touching.wired work with the In-line microphone which are perfect for Online Courses and Voice calls. TIP: Fits most headphone jacks but you will need an adapter for anything that requires a lightening plug.


Speaking of sound, for $55 you can give this all in one disco karaoke set!  This is a CD player that has it's own internal speaker (also bluetooth) and rainbow disco light effect for extra fun.
