'Tis the Season to Toast

Three select suggestions for giving something special - and don't forget to gift yourself...

See this lovely bottle? I remember when I bought my first. 'Twas decades ago on Newbury Street in Boston. Never forgot it. Billecart Salmon Brut Rose is fabulous, one of the first ever to be the most delicate pink color. Guys, if you are looking to woo her, this is the bottle... cold and sparkling in a pretty glass. Good for Valenties Day and proposals too!
From $44-200.

For something really different, try Domaine de Canton made with Vietnamese Ginger and cognac for $37.99. CLICK HERE to find on Bevmo! Not only is the bottle cool enough to repurpose, ginger is good for you, heh. Click on Domaine de Canton's website, choose your mixer (lower left) and discover all kinds of fly cocktail recipes.

Once unavailable, Absinthe has resurfaced on the scene. Made famous by aristocracy and the bohemian literary crowd in Europe at the end of the 19th century, it has quite a dark history... due to its powerful content. I don't know if it's made of the same stuff today (just like Coca Cola doesn't contain coca leaves anymore), but it's a way to have an experience and give something that's of-the-moment. As low as $34.00 You might try Pernod's bottle, as I believe they were once the early makers in the early 1800's. Beware - it's 139 proof. Read all about it on Liquor.com. And buy it for $37 on the fitting site named Absinthe.com. Toast to Prague and Paris and to Verlaine, Rimbaud, Talouse-Lautrec, Proust, Poe, and van Gogh... and include your bad self among them!
