Hurt no living thing;
Ladybrid, nor butterfly,
Nor moth with dusty wing,
Nor cricket chirping cheerily;
Nor grasshopper so light of leap,
Nor dancing gnat, nor beetle fat,
No harmless worms that creep.
---Christina Rosetti (1830-1894)
I've been so busy with a project that I have had to reduce my posting and for those of you who only read this blog, I apologize. I heartily invite you to check my other blog, Adventures in Nature, which I post on almost daily. Just click on the title and you'll go there. Please do, unless you are not into nature or animals, there is something to lift your spirits for a few minutes every day! Or you can check in to A New Yorker in Houston, though it is suffering for new posts as well.
And as to the above poem... I notice she does not mention any mosquitoes or cockroaches.... what do you think about that? :-)
